Kailali: Law enforcement officials in Kailali recently uncovered a significant case of customs evasion, involving various goods left abandoned and unattended. The seized items, which include sugar, lollipops, pasta, mountain dew, bidis, and other commodities estimated to be worth Rs. 9000, were confiscated at the Dhangadhi sub-metropolis 2 traffic intersection. A diligent team from the District Police Office Kailali stumbled upon the neglected merchandise and promptly took possession of it.

Additionally, on Friday night, another instance of customs evasion was unearthed when sugar and pasta valued at approximately 10,000, originating from India and brought to Thapaghat in Dhangadhi sub-municipality-19, were discovered abandoned. The diligent authorities intervened, securing the contraband, and promptly transferring it to the custody of the Bahuliya Police Office in Kailali.

Such incidents of customs evasion undermine the integrity of trade regulations and contribute to illicit activities. The police, in their unwavering commitment to upholding the law, remain vigilant in their efforts to combat such unlawful practices and ensure the smooth functioning of legitimate commerce in the region.
