Finance Minister Mahat Announces 1.15 Arba Budget Allocation for Establishment of Geta Medical University
Dhangadhi: Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat has revealed plans for the establishment of a medical university in Geta, Kailali, accompanied by a substantial budget allocation.
Addressing inquiries during the Federal Parliament's budget session on Monday, Finance Minister Mahat confirmed that a budget of Rs. 1.15 arba has been allocated for the operationalization of the esteemed Shaheed Dashnath Chand National Health Sciences University in Geta.
Minister Mahat acknowledged that a predicament arose due to competing requests from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, as well as the Ministry of Health and Population, for funds to support the operation of the Geta medical university. He further informed the House of Representatives that the budget has been directed towards the Ministry of Medicine. Assuring the nation, he projected that the health university will commence full-fledged operations in the upcoming fiscal year 2080/081 BS.
Minister Mahat further stated that legislation concerning the functioning of the university is currently under development. He emphasized that the university, complete with a 600-bed hospital, will be established in Geta, signaling a significant milestone in healthcare and education advancement.
