Significant Percentage of Sudurpaschim Province Residents Found Abroad
Dhangadhi: Recent statistics reveal that a substantial proportion of Sudurpaschim Province's population, approximately 30 percent, is residing abroad.
According to the National Census conducted in 2078, it was determined that 29.8 percent of the province's total population is currently residing outside the country.
Data provided by the National Statistics Office indicates that a total of 343,523 individuals from 172,015 families in the Far West region have migrated abroad. The majority of those abroad are men, accounting for 74.5 percent, while women constitute 25.5 percent.
Among the residents of Sudurpaschim Province currently abroad, 255,761 are men, and 87,762 are women. As of the 2078 census, the population of Sudurpaschim Province stands at 2,694,783.
This data highlights the substantial migration trend within the Far West region, with a considerable number of individuals seeking opportunities and settling in foreign countries. It is worth noting that the Far West region constitutes approximately 24 percent of Nepal's total population.
