Residential Fires Ravage Homes in Kailali and Kanchanpur
Dhangadhi: Incidents of house fires have been reported in both Kailali and Kanchanpur districts. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kuldeep Chand, spokesperson for the District Police Office Kailali, a fire erupted in the residence of 49-year-old Dipa Saund in Bandipur, Kailali Tikapur Municipality-2.
The fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen of Saund's small thatched house, where the flames were inadvertently fanned by strong winds. DSP Chand revealed that the kitchen area and utensils were severely damaged, resulting in an estimated loss of approximately 30,000 rupees.
Likewise, in Kanchanpur, a fire broke out in the residence of Bir Bahadur Chaudhary in Bhakunda, Punarwas Municipality-1. According to spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Dangi from the District Police Office Kanchanpur, the fire, which occurred on Monday afternoon, was caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring of Chaudhary's two-room, single-story brick and mud house.
Dangi further disclosed that the fire consumed clothing, food supplies, and valuables, resulting in an estimated loss of around 150,000 rupees. The police, along with the assistance of local residents, swiftly brought the fire under control. Investigations into the incidents are currently underway.
