Avalanche in Darchula Leaves Half a Dozen Missing, Rescue Operations Underway

Dhangadhi: An avalanche in Darchula on Tuesday has left at least half a dozen people missing, suspected to be trapped under the snow. The incident occurred at Byas rural municipality-1 Bolin at approximately 3:30 pm local time. According to Assistant Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force, DSP Shailendra Thapa, a group of 8 or 9 individuals were in Tripal searching for Yarsagumba when the avalanche struck.

Efforts are currently underway to locate and rescue those who may be buried in the snow. A team of 30 individuals, led by DSP No. 50 Gulm Changru Darchula of the Armed Police Force, has been dispatched to the site. Additionally, District Police Office Darchula has deployed a team under the command of Asai from a nearby post to assist in the rescue efforts.
