Dhangadhi Residents Raise Concerns over Electrical Hazards Ignored by Nepal Electricity Authority
Dhangadhi: Residents in Dhangadhi have expressed their growing concerns over the lack of action taken by the Nepal Electricity Authority to address the increasing electrical hazards in the area. Several individuals have reported hazardous conditions in the placement of electricity poles and transformers, which pose a risk to the safety of pedestrians and local businesses.
Vikas Pathak, who operates a shop near Shahid Gate, stated that the open fuse box connected to the transformer could lead to an accident at any time, endangering those who use the footpath. Similarly, Dhan Bahadur Thapa of Uttarbehdi has also voiced his disappointment in the Nepal Electricity Authority's inaction in eliminating electrical hazards. Thapa cited the tendency to leave wires bent, and fuse boxes located too low and exposed, leading to an increase in the risk of accidents.
Suryanarayan Mandal, head of Nepal Electricity Authority Dhangadhi distribution center, has acknowledged these concerns and promised that technicians will be sent immediately to the location of the open fuse box to repair and address the issue. However, locals remain skeptical and continue to demand proper attention to the electrical hazards in the area.
