Kanchanpur: Indian Security Forces Halt Nepal Electricity Authority's Power Line Extension

The extension of a power line in Belauri Municipality-8 has been obstructed by Indian security personnel. The Nepal Electricity Authority employees were prevented from extending the line by the Indian Border Security Force (SAB).

The SAB team stopped the work of burying the electricity pole when it was taking place along the Hulaki road section, preventing the extension of the power line from Kalo Bridge to Pachuani. Kapil Joshi, head of the authority's Belauri distribution center, said that the Indian security forces refused to allow the extension until they could discuss it further.

The contract for the extension of the power line has been awarded to Jagdamba Betal Construction, with the work due to be completed within the year. However, the Indian security forces have now caused a standstill in the burying of the pole, causing frustration among local residents who have repeatedly experienced obstructions from the Indian side in the Hulaki highway area.

Gopal Prasad Aryal, the Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur, is currently investigating the reason behind the halt to the power line extension. It is worth noting that the Indian side has previously prevented the blackening of the road in the Pachuani area of the Hulaki highway.
