Three timber smugglers arrested in Godawari
Dhangadhi: Three people have been arrested along with timber from Godawari in Kailali. A group of three people who were cutting timber illegally in Godawari Municipality-4's Godawari Community Forest was injured while 6 trees were being cut.
The patrol team from Sub Division Forest Office, Attaria, said that they were arrested while they were cutting sal trees on the basis of special information. Nirajan Kadal, Head of Sub-Division Forest Office, Attaria informed that 54-year-old Padam Bahadur Zora, 57-year-old Bhaturam Choudhary, and 32-year-old Krishna Rokaya of Godawari Municipality Ward No.2 Teghari were found by the patrol team while they were cutting down trees in the community forest.
Kadal said that the recovered wood has been kept at the Division Forest Office at Attaria, while those arrested will be taken into custody for further investigation. Action will be taken according to the Forest Act 2076.
