One dead in Bajura earthquake
Dhangadhi: The inhabitants of Sudurpaschim have suffered a major loss of physical infrastructure due to the earthquake. The damage was caused due to the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that jolted Swamikartik rural municipality, Mela of Bajura. 25 houses were been destroyed in the district by Tuesday night.
According to the District Police Office, Bajura, the errand of collecting details of the damages caused by the earthquake is ongoing. At 2:43 PM on Tuesday, an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred with its epicentre in Mela of Bajura district.
Jamuna Rokaya of Gaumul Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 has died after being hit by a rock that fell due to the earthquake. She was killed by a rock that hit her from above while she was returning after cutting grass in the forest.
A man from Gaumul Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 who went to graze sheep in the district has been injured. 50 to 60 sheep died when a landslide broke out from above while the sheep were grazing in the forest. Ramdal Bohra who had taken his sheep to graze has been injured.
