CPN-UML candidate for mayor in the former election Gokarna Bhatta warns mayor Birendra Bhatta

Dhangadhi: The Godawari Municipality has been cordoned off for extracting for mining river depositions from the Khutia river. CPN-UML Godawari municipality has surrounded the municipality saying that the mayor Birendra Bhatta has granted permission for mining from the Khutia river in an unsolicited manner.

CPN-UML Godawari has demanded that the truth be brought out immediately as river depositions are being mined and sold with the intention of corruption. Under the leadership of City Committee Chairman Gokarna Bhatta, the protest was raised in the municipal office premises saying that the river is being exploited with wrong intentions.

The CPN-UML Godawari City Committee has said that the municipality should stop the extraction of river depositions from Khutia when even the common people are saying that it is a scam. Protests were held in the municipal premises with slogans such as 'Stop the thief scandal', and 'Investigate corruption' and that revenue leakage cannot be allowed.

CPN-UML Godawari has announced that it will stage a protest against the economic irregularities in Khutia. Chairman Bhatta said that CPN-UML Godawari will continue to protest until the truth about Khutiya is heard.
