Baitadi murder case: Suspect caught from Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Armed police constable Bharatram Koli, accused of murdering 21-year-old Maya Luhar, who was strangled to death in Baitadi, has been arrested from Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur. According to the Sudurpaschim Province Police Office, Koli of Shivnath Rural Municipality-4 in Baitadi was arrested from Mahendranagar.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Mohan Kumar Acharya, Head of State Police Office, said Koli was arrested from Mahendranagar. Police Inspector Pushkar Pant of District Police Office Kanchanpur said that Koli was arrested while wandering in the Mahendranagar market on Sunday morning and will now be handed over to the Baitadi police.

Maya of Pancheshwar Rural Municipality-4, who had gone to Kulau last Tuesday to sew clothes from her home, was found strangled to death near Shivnath Temple in Shivnath-6 on Wednesday. Neha Luhar, who went with her, also had injuries on her neck from a sharp weapon.

Relatives of the deceased filed a complaint in the name of armed police constable Koli. The police were searching for him who was absconding. 22-year-old Koli was working as an armed police constable at the Hull and Riot Training Management Academy in Pokhara.
