A school teacher in Dadeldhura asked to give clarification to Election Commission
Dhangadhi: The Election Commission has asked Hema Bhatta, who is working in Dadeldhura Campus Dadeldhura, for an explanation.
It is said that Bhatta, who is working in the campus library, has shared party pro status and posts. According to the Commission's National Vigilance Center they received a complain that she has been active election campaigns and has been supporting political parties openly through her Facebook page. Hence, she has been asked to submit an explanation.
According to Section 10 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2079, the conduct to be followed by school, college or university and related staff, professors and teachers refrains them from (a) "to engage in propaganda in favor of or against any political party or candidate" and A. In clause (h) of the section, “it forbids them to post any message in favor of or against any political party or candidate on social media, There is no provision to post or share information, propaganda materials or ask for votes through social media. In the said context Bhatta has been requested to submit a written explanation to the email address of the Election Commission within 24 (twenty four) hours of receipt of this letter by any means.
Bhatta has been asked to provide proof that she was not promoting the candidates of political parties.
