Kanchanpur: Preparations have been intensified for the upcoming representative and state assembly elections in Kanchanpur. Chief Electoral Officer Dhruv Kumar Shah informed that the election materials including ballots have arrived for all the three constituencies of the district and the work of arranging ballots, ballot boxes, seals, stamp pads, cloth etc. is going on.

“Employees of the District Election Office are busy managing election materials. Ballots and other election materials have arrived, more ballots than voters have arrived in each constituency,” he said. There are 91 thousand one hundred and 10 voters in District No. 1, 2 one hundred and five thousand five hundred and 97 thousand eight hundred and 22 voters in District No. 3, which has three constituencies for the House of Representatives.

Chief Electoral Officer Shah said that along with the management of ballot papers, the work of appointing staff is going on. There are 132 polling stations and 346 polling stations in Kanchanpur. District Election Officer Udayraj Joshi said that 2,768 employees have been selected at the rate of eight people in one polling station.

"We are training the employees, after the training they will be sent to the polling station with election materials and ballot papers", he said. Two temporary polling stations have been set up in the District Jail and Bhimdatta Municipality for the inmates and staff of the jail.
