Election Commission demands Minister Badu for an explanation regarding the school meeting in Darchula
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has demands the candidate and the principal of the school along with Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply Dilendra Prasad Badu for an explanation regarding the fact that parties including Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) organized an election meeting at Gokuleshwar High School located in Shailyashikhar Municipality-9 of Darchula.
The Commission has asked Congress candidate Bikram Singh Dhami in Darchula 1 (1), Man Bahadur Dhami, candidate of CPN Maoist Center in State Assembly 1 (2) and school principal Dhananjay Joshi for clarification. Likewise, the Election Officer of Darchula has been instructed to take necessary action regarding this incident and the Chief District Officer has been instructed to submit a report of the incident within 4 days.
The commission has asked Minister Badu to give a confirmation within 24 hours regarding the violation of the code of conduct, reminding the provisions of the election code of conduct that the resources and assets of government or semi-government bodies or public institutions should not be used in favor of any party or candidate. Joshi, the principal of the school, has been asked to present the reasons for allowing the election assembly to use the school, if there is any reason why action should not be taken.
