Dhangadhi: More than 100 traders have been illegally dealing in diesel and petrol in Baitadi. It has been revealed that they are selling petroleum products in drums from Dhangadhi and Dadeldhura in various markets of the district.

Although there is only one Bhandari Oil store in Satbanj of Baitadi, the traders have been illegally trading in diesel and petrol. Locals have said that dozens of traders are openly selling and distributing petroleum products in all markets including district headquarters Gothalapani, Dehimanda, Patan, Khodpe, Gokuleshwar, Sillegada.

In this way, there is a risk of accidents while selling petroleum products, while they are selling at very expensive prices, the transporters have also increased the vehicle fares. Madanmohan Bisht, a construction businessman, said that due to such traders, the risk of accidents in the markets has increased. He said that petrol is sold in drug shops, hotels and liquor shops, clothing shops, shoe shops, grocery shops and vegetable shops in busy markets.

Bhandari Oil Store sells only diesel. It is said that the oil store has been refusing to do business for the past three years despite the district administration instructing it to deal with petrol time and time again. On the other hand, the district administration office has shown interest in the illegal trading of petroleum products in the district.
