Bus drivers organise a protest in Attaria to defy police orders

Dhangadhi: The bus drivers have staged a protest in Attaria. A bus driver was arrested for parking his bus in a no-parking zone which led to the protest. The traffic police fined a bus stopped on the side of the road which led to a dispute between the bus driver and the police after a fine was imposed on the bus No. 1 B 910 on the Kathmandu-Mahendranagar route.

Thereafter, the police arrested the driver Shyamraj Joshi. After his arrest, other transporters blocked the road. Shyamraj Joshi had stopped the bus in a no-parking zone. Bus driver Joshi admitted his mistake and the fine was reduced, but the transporters started protesting soon after he was arrested.

The police said that he was arrested after he refused to pay the fine. The two sides are now discussing to agree and, the traffic has resumed, police added.
