Dhangadhi: An ambulance used to carry patients in Doti has been found to be used for household work. The ambulance of Badikedar Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 Barchain Health Chowki of Doti met with an accident at Sokhan in VP nagar when the driver Tej Bohara was taking his uncle Pushkar Bohara home at 10 o'clock last Thursday night.

The locals have demanded an investigation saying that the accident happened when the non-driver was driving the ambulance after drinking alcohol. Bohara, the ambulance driver, claimed that the accident occurred when an animal crossed the road at night when he was driving his uncle home from the VP Nagar market. "Uncle and I were on our way home, not even drunk, I drove the ambulance myself, my uncle didn't." he said.

Locals say that it was seen that the ambulance was being used for household purposes at night, carrying his uncle when the insurance of the ambulance was not even renewed. But Dambar Bahadur Bohara, the ward chairman of Ward No. 1, says that the reality of the accident is known only to the driver as the accident happened in a place where it could not have happened. "The driver claims that the animal came and caused the accident, the driver claims that he drove the ambulance himself, the reality remains to be understood." Chairman Bohara said.

The local residents have demanded an investigation into the fact that the ambulance was driven by a non-driver with the involvement of the public representative. The driver Bohara and his uncle riding in the ambulance are unharmed, but the ambulance is in a damaged condition and has been kept in a garage for repairs.
