A school principal in Dadeldhura resigns after locals protest demanding his resignation
Dadeldhura: The locals of Dadeldhura have locked the Ugratara Secondary School as a sign of protest. Locals locked the school because the headmaster Chandra Bahadur Shahu had beaten up the school accountant Tika Air.
Locals were angry after a school accountant was beaten up in Ugratara Secondary School in Amargadhi Municipality-7. On Sunday morning, local Sher Bahadur Bhandari said that they locked the door demanding the resignation of the principal.
He said that the incident such as the principal assaulting an employee in a pious place like a school is reprehensible and demanded the resignation of the principal. Accountant Ayer was injured in the beating. Locals said that his legs and back were injured.
According to principal Chandra Bahadur Shahu he assaulted him because he came intoxicated to school and assassinated his character on being questioned on Thursday evening. Principal Shahu claimed that he had also received a complaint about the accountant the he was incapable in maintaining the school's accounts properly.
Locals surrounded the school on Sunday and pelted stones at the school administration demanding the resignation of the principal. Principal Chandra Bahadur Shahu has resigned from his post due to intense pressure. Similarly, the chairman of the management committee of the school has also said that he will resign from his position.
Now a large number of security personnel have been mobilized in the school. Due to this incident, the education of the students has been hampered.
