Dadeldhura: The 19th National Paddy Day has been celebrated in Dadeldhura by singing and planting paddy in Deuda rhythm. The Agriculture Knowledge Center and Amargadhi Municipality have celebrated Paddy Day by visiting a farmer's field in Amargadhi Municipality-3 Doti Ghatal (Saud village) of the district headquarters.

Tirtha Air, Ward Chairman of Amargadhi Municipality-3, said that the paddy day was celebrated by singing songs in Deuda rhythm while planting paddy. Paddy Day is celebrated today as the day of sowing and reaping. Dhan Diwas is celebrated by eating curd and singing songs in Deuda rhythm. It is customary to eat yogurt as it gives energy to the body that is wet in the rain.

'Use of biodiversity in rice, assistance in import substitution' Chief of the Agriculture Knowledge Center Dadeldhura Ram Chandra Bhat informed that the National Paddy Day was celebrated with the slogan. According to Bhatta, paddy is cultivated in an area of 6,000 hectares in Dadeldhura. He said that 65 percent planting has been completed in the district by June 29. Local people's representatives, head of district coordination committee, staff of agriculture knowledge center, representatives of Amargadhi agriculture branch and local farmers were present on the occasion.
