Woman killed in elephant attack in Kailali

Dhangadhi: A woman has been killed in an elephant attack in Kailali district. According to the police, 50-year-old Tanka Sodari of Tikapur Municipality-1 Block No. 15 died after being attacked by an elephant.

According to the Area Police Office, Tikapur, two elephants came out of the forest at Sankatighat on the bank of Karnali River on Saturday evening and attacked Sodari, who was returning home after working on the embankment of the river. According to eyewitnesses, two of the three women who were collecting stones for embankment on the river bank escaped and Sodari was killed by an elephant.
