Incident: Relatives found bodies after postmortem, FIR filed against 13 people including people's representatives
Dhangadhi: The body of Kishore Binod Shahi, who was found dead in Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-4 of Achham, has been found by his relatives after postmortem. A postmortem was conducted six days after the body was found.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Achham, Inspector Kailash Singh Bista informed that the post-mortem was conducted after the police registered a complaint against the victim. According to him, the relatives found the body after registering the Kitani complaint. He said that the Kitani complaint was registered in the name of the newly elected people's representative. Chief District Officer Bishwaraj Maraseni said that the investigation into the incident has reached its conclusion. He also claimed that the final results of the investigation would come within a week.
So far, police have arrested six people and are investigating. A team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is conducting an investigation at the spot. CPN-UML has been accusing Congress cadres of killing Binod due to political dispute. The Far-Western Provincial Police Office has also deployed a team led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Janak Raj Pandey of the Federal Police Unit Mahendranagar to further investigate the incident. Relatives have said that the funeral of the deceased Shahi will be held today.
Vinod's body was found in a forest near his house. The family of the deceased and the locals were about to file a complaint alleging that Shahi had been killed. However, the police did not register a complaint and did not allow the body to be picked up. There is continuous agitation in the district for the justice of the deceased Shahi. It is said that a struggle will be waged for his justice in the federal capital Kathmandu as well.
