Baitadi-Dhangadhi air service for two and a half months, for a reason
Baitadi: Air service to Baitadi has been closed for two and a half months. The Baitadi-Dhangadhi flight was canceled on April 24. Summit Air was flying from Baitadi to Dhangadhi on Thursday, one day a week.
Chetraj Bhatta, senior officer at the Baitadi Civil Aviation Office, Patan, said that the Baitadi Civil Aviation Office is currently closed due to lack of passengers. Summit Air has not been able to reach Patan as it is flying to more tourist destinations. He claims that he could not fly regularly due to lack of passengers. Krishna Dutta Bhatta, a contact person of Summit Air Baitadi, informed that the air service, which has been closed for two and a half months, will be re-opened in the next two weeks. He said that the air service would resume regular operation in a few weeks. Summit Air's 18-passenger capacity was flying weekly.
Earlier, the air service had been closed since the last Poush. Due to lack of passengers and unfavorable weather conditions, the airline was closed for the first week of March. Meanwhile, passengers have complained that the Baitadi-Dhangadhi airfare has become expensive. He said that the fare for the 17-minute journey was expensive. The air fare from Baitadi to Dhangadhi was Rs. 4,600 when the air service was in operation last April. According to the contact person Bhatta, the rent will now increase by more than 4,600. Initially, the fare was Rs. 3,850 when the airline was operating.
