Four policemen arrested for stealing recovered goods in Dhangadhi, DSP Bista keeps the matter confidential

Dhangadhi: A Tiger Team (QRT) under the District Police Office, Kailali, recovered illegally imported goods from India in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan of Kailali on Thursday night.

At around 2 pm, they recovered 10 bags of clothes. After recovering the goods, the team informed the district police, a team under the command of Assistant Inspector of Police Jit Bahadur Deuba had gone to Bangrakatan to fetch the goods.

The team reached the district with the recovered goods. However, out of the 10 bags recovered, one bag of clothes kept behind the police vehicle went missing. A police source said that some clothes were found under the police vehicle and some in a water tank.

According to an open source, about 150 pair of clothes in the bag were hidden by four policemen. The police officer also told Dinesh Khabar that the four policemen were detained on Friday. According to him, the driver and some policemen are amongst the arrested.

When the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pratik Bista came to know about this, he claimed that no one was in police custody. He said the goods were recovered.
