Seti Provincial Hospital commences plasma therapy
Dhangadhi : A 57-year-old woman of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 5 is the first patient to receive treatment with plasma therapy in the ICU of the Isolation Intensive Care Unit at Seti Provincial Hospital.
Dr. Sher Bahadur Kamar, head of the COVID-19 treatment department of the hospital, said that he started treatment with plasma therapy on Sunday.
Dr. Kamar said the plasma of a 22-year-old man from Dhangadhi who recovered from coronavirus was used to treat the infected woman. Scientists believe that the plasma of a person who has recovered from Coronavirus if infused in a seriously infected person will neutralize the virus. It is believed that the body of a person who is free from infection has antibodies to help fight the virus.
