Dhangadhi: Chairman of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 3 Bal Bahadur Ayer said that he was arrested by the police for attempting to help a stranded couple at the border.

He said that he had protested after the three persons who had entered from the Trinagar border checkpoint were left stranded at the border checkpoint at 9 pm on Tuesday.

According to him, the Indian man had been living in Ward No. 1 of Dhangadhi for 25 years after marrying a Nepali woman. He had requested the police to let him stay for a night but the police asked him to leave, they were left stranded at the border, "said Ayer
