Rise in water level in Mohana River
Dhangadhi: The flood in Mohana River in Dhangadhi has washed away about 7 bighas of fields including 10 katthas of banana farm. The Banana farm planted on 10 katthas of land of local Dilakh Chaudhary in Boulia of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 19 has been damaged due to the flood.
Ward Chairman Tiluram Chaudhary said that the river had washed away the land of Dilakh Chaudhary, who had been cultivating bananas by renting the land of Bal Sirjana Primary School. Similarly, about 7 bighas of land in Lalipur of Ward No. 19 has also been washed away by the river.
Ward Chairman Chaudhary said that the 7 bighas of land belonged to 18 local families has been cut off by the Mohana River. According to him, the river has accumulated sand in about 10 bighas of fields and even the paddy crop has been destroyed. Now the flow of water in the river has decreased. Local farmers are worried after the river flooded their fields.
