Far-Western Provincial Assembly urges central government to demand removal of Indian troops from disputed land

The Far-Western Provincial Assembly has passed a resolution calling on Nepal’s central government to take the initiative to remove Indian troops from the encroached land through diplomatic channels and to claim the land that rightfully belongs to Nepal. The proposal was passed by a majority in the state assembly meeting held on Wednesday.

The resolution was put forth by state assembly member Karna Bahadur Malla on January 6 with the support of state assembly member Bharat Bahadur Khadka. Then again, on June 6, Karna Bahadur Malla and Gyalbu Singh Bohara, with the support of members Bharat Khadka, Lal Bahadur Khadka and Malamati Kumari Rana, had registered a joint proposal to remove the Indian Army and claim the land of Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani areas as soon as possible.
