Minister Lamsal orders action to terminate delayed Darchula District Hospital construction contract
Darchula: Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the delay in the construction of the under-construction Darchula District Hospital building and directed authorities to initiate the process of terminating the contract agreement if the contractor fails to complete the work within the stipulated time.
After inspecting the hospital building construction site and receiving information about the progress, Minister Lamsal said the project had been unnecessarily delayed due to the negligence of the construction contractor. He said he could not wait any longer and directed the concerned bodies to take action in accordance with the law.
Minister Lamsal also directed authorities to immediately initiate the necessary process to terminate the contract agreement and blacklist the construction contractor as per the prevailing public procurement law.
Stating that the delay in the hospital building has also affected the delivery of health services, he instructed the concerned offices and stakeholders to prioritize the construction work.
Following the minister's directive, action will be taken against the construction contractor in accordance with the contract agreement and public procurement laws. The concerned authorities have stated that the necessary administrative and legal procedures will be initiated immediately to complete the construction work on time.
