Customer claims gutkha found inside laddu produced by Green Home Pvt. Ltd. in Kailali

Dhangadhi: A customer has claimed that a piece of gutkha was found inside a laddu produced by Green Home Pvt. Ltd. in Godavari Municipality-6, Kailali.

According to the customer, he found a piece resembling gutkha inside a laddu after opening a one-kilogram packet of Kakaj brand gram flour laddus. The discovery has raised questions about the production process at the industry.

However, Green Home Pvt. Ltd. operator Dinesh Lamsal said that gram flour may have been mixed into the product during the preparation process. He said the industry has also received complaints from customers and expressed commitment to addressing shortcomings in the coming days.

According to Lamsal, the industry currently employs around 100 workers, including 60 to 70 women and 20 to 30 men. He said special attention would be given to hygiene and cleanliness during production and packaging, keeping food safety, quality and the company’s market in mind.

Whether the substance found inside the laddu is gutkha or gram flour will be confirmed only after testing and investigation by the concerned agency.

The incident has raised questions about quality control and hygiene in the production and packaging of food products.
