Former Chief Minister Rawal clarifies tractor-stopping incident, says action was aimed at pressuring road construction completion
Dhangadhi: Former Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawal has objected to the video circulating on social media regarding the incident of him stopping a tractor and urged people to understand the actual background of the incident. In a clarification posted on social media, Rawal said that only a small portion of the video showing the tractor being stopped was circulated, which did not reflect the reality of the situation. According to Rawal, the company contracted to construct the road had left the project incomplete for around three years, causing difficulties for local residents. He said the tractor was stopped after the company attempted to take construction materials elsewhere without completing the road work, with the intention of requesting, “Complete the road construction first, then take the materials,” for the benefit of the locals. Rawal stated that interpreting the move to hold the construction company accountable for addressing public problems in a negative manner was inappropriate. He claimed that following the pressure created by the incident, work such as watering and blacktopping the road progressed the following day. Expressing dissatisfaction over attempts to create confusion by circulating only a part of the incident for publicity, Rawal urged everyone to understand the complete context and present the truth before drawing conclusions on any matter.
