Cabinet meeting approves key decisions, Govinda Bahadur Karki appointed Chief Secretary

Kathmandu: The government has made public the key decisions of the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Education Sasmit Pokharel made public the decisions taken by the meeting. According to him, the Cabinet meeting decided to appoint Govinda Bahadur Karki, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal.

The key decisions of the Cabinet meeting are as follows:

  1. Appoint Suraj Shakya of Kathmandu as the Development Commissioner of the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority.
  2. Approve the operation of Geta Hospital in Kailali as a teaching hospital of Shaheed Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences.
  3. Approve the ‘Foreign Educational Program Operation and Regulation Regulations, 2083’.
  4. Approve the ‘Educational Counseling, Language Teaching and Preparatory Class Operation and Management Regulations, 2083’.
  5. Approve the ‘Prison Regulations, 2083’.
  6. Approve the Sixth National Action Plan on Human Rights.
  7. Approve the Second Strategic Plan Against Corruption.
  8. Appoint Govinda Bahadur Karki, Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal.
