Kailali: 12 local levels present budget for upcoming fiscal year, Tikapur yet to announce

Dhangadhi: Except for one local level in Kailali, all others have made public their budgets for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 BS. Out of the 13 local levels in the district, 12 have presented their budgets through town and village assemblies, while Tikapur Municipality has yet to do so.

According to the Local Government Operation Act, there is a provision to present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year by Asad 10. In line with this requirement, most local levels in Kailali have presented their budgets on time. However, the budget in Tikapur Municipality could not be presented due to the vacancy of both the mayor and deputy mayor positions, along with an ongoing dispute over the acting mayor.

On Wednesday, Ghodaghodi Municipality, Godavari Municipality, and Bardagoria Rural Municipality presented their budgets in their respective assemblies. Earlier, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City, Lamkichuha Municipality, Mohanyal Rural Municipality, Bhajani Municipality, Janaki Rural Municipality, Kailari Rural Municipality, Joshipur Rural Municipality, Chure Rural Municipality, and Gauri Ganga Municipality had already made public their budgets for the upcoming fiscal year.
