Sudurpaschim government to launch ‘Let’s Laugh in the Country’ campaign, allocates budget for youth and social programs

Attariya (Kailali): The Sudurpaschim Provincial Government is set to launch the ‘Let’s Laugh in the Country’ campaign in the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

The campaign was announced in the budget presented by Economic Affairs Minister Bikram Singh Dhami in the Provincial Assembly on Monday.

Minister Dhami stated that the program aims to promote respect for skills, labor, and creativity within the country. As part of the campaign, a youth entrepreneurship development program will be introduced, targeting youths who have studied agriculture and returned from abroad, with the goal of increasing youth engagement in the agricultural sector and fostering entrepreneurship.

A budget of Rs. 20.5 million has been allocated for the implementation of this program. The provincial government will also continue the ‘I am young, let me grow, not child marriage, let me study’ campaign, allocating Rs. 10 million to support efforts against child marriage.

Additionally, the government will operate a free livelihood-targeted program aimed at the empowerment and modernization of marginalized groups, including the poor, Dalits, freed Kamaiyas, freed Kamlaris, freed Haliyas, people with disabilities, and single women.

Minister Dhami informed that Rs. 36 million has been allocated for this livelihood program. Overall, the Sudurpaschim Provincial Government has announced a total budget of Rs. 37.7 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.
