RSP completes conventions in 56 districts, election process underway in 12 districts
Kathmandu: The National Independent Party (RSP) has completed its district conventions in 56 districts, while the election process is underway in 12 districts.
The party had scheduled its district conventions in two phases on Saturday and Sunday. The conventions were completed in 38 districts on Saturday, while they began in 28 districts on Sunday. New working committees have been elected in most of the districts where the conventions began on Sunday.
According to RSP spokesperson Manish Jha, conventions have been completed in Jhapa, Morang, Tehrathum, Taplejung, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, Panchthar, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Ilam and Dhankuta in Koshi Province. Preparations for elections are underway in Udayapur.
The election process has moved forward in Mahottari, Rautahat, Siraha, Parsa and Sarlahi in Madhesh Province after the conventions. The party has stated that conventions will be held in Saptari and Bara today and in Dhanusha on Tuesday.
The conventions in Dolakha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Nuwakot, Makawanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Rasuwa, Sindhuli, Dhading, Ramechhap, Chitwan and Lalitpur in Bagmati Province have also been completed. The convention in Sindhupalchowk has been postponed.
In Gandaki Province, conventions have been completed in Syangja, Kaski, Parbat, Lamjung, Myagdi, Tanahun and Gorkha, while in Baglung the convention has been postponed due to a complaint after an agreement was said to have been reached in the district working committee. Spokesperson Jha informed that the election process is underway in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East).
In Lumbini Province, conventions have been completed in Gulmi, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West), Palpa, Kapilvastu, Dang, Pyuthan, Banke, Bardiya, Rolpa, Arghakhanchi and Rupandehi.
Similarly, conventions have been concluded in Kalikot, Salyan, Rukum West, Mugu and Jumla in Karnali Province, while elections are underway in Surkhet, Jajarkot and Dailekh. In the Far West, conventions have been completed in Baitadi, Bajhang, Darchula, Achham, Dadeldhura, Kailali and Kanchanpur, while the election process is still ongoing in Doti and Bajura, spokesperson Jha informed.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is holding its provincial convention from Jestha 26. The Bagmati Province convention is being held on Tuesday. After completing the party’s lower committee deliberations, the RSS is heading towards its first national general convention from Asad 27 to 29, which will be held in Chitwan.
