Customs-evading goods worth over Rs 272,000 seized in Kailali and Kanchanpur
Dhangadhi: Police have seized customs-evading goods from Kailali and Kanchanpur.
Goods worth an estimated Rs 139,450, illegally imported from India, were seized from various locations in Kailali, including areas near the Customs Office in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-2 and Bhajani Municipality-7, Hikmatpur.
Customs-evading items including sugar, beverages, kurkure, saris, suit pieces, tanna, betel nut, plastic film, and other goods were found abandoned by police deployed from the District Police Office, Kailali, on Saturday and taken into custody.
Similarly, on Saturday, police deployed from the Area Police Office Gaddachauki, Kanchanpur, seized saris, groceries, and other goods worth an estimated Rs 133,000. The items had been illegally imported from India through customs evasion and were found in Bhimdatta Municipality-5 Tintara and Bhimdatta Municipality-11 Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur.
