Youth arrested with 145 grams of heroin in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: Police in Dhangadhi have arrested a youth with 145 grams of a powdery substance resembling heroin, a narcotic drug.

A joint team from the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch, Mahendranagar, and the Ward Police Office, Dhangadhi, took the individual into custody based on special information.

The arrested person has been identified as 27-year-old Nirajan Thakulla, a resident of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-8. He was arrested from the Jugeda road section in Dhangadhi-8, according to police.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yogendra Timalsina, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Kailali, the 145 grams of the suspected substance was found with Thakulla during a routine check at around 12:45 pm on Thursday.

Police said the joint team was mobilized following specific intelligence. During the search, Thakulla, who was walking along the road, was found suspicious, and the substance was recovered from him during the inspection.

Following a recent increase in drug trafficking and abuse cases in Kailali district, police have intensified surveillance and control campaigns.
