Customs-evaded goods seized in three Far-western districts

Dhangadhi: Police have seized various goods imported illegally by evading customs in the districts of Kanchanpur, Kailali, and Baitadi in the Far West.

In Kanchanpur, goods worth approximately Rs 73,544 were seized from the Baijnath Temple area of Ward No. 13 near Chetan Hotel in Bhimdatta Municipality-3, and from a road ghat in Belauri Municipality-10. According to police, the items were illegally brought in from India. The seized goods include creams, powders, oils, soaps, various medicines, and grocery items. A patrol team from the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, found the goods abandoned and took them into control.

Similarly, in Kailali, police seized Sidra fish worth around Rs 21,000 that had been illegally imported from India. The fish were found abandoned at Lallipur Ghat in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-19 by a team from the Area Police Office, Bahuliya on Wednesday.

In Baitadi, police seized 360 bundles of Paniharin bindis worth approximately Rs 144,000 from Sungarkhali in Dasharathchand Municipality-2. According to police, the goods were found abandoned by a team from the District Police Office, Baitadi, and have been handed over to the Customs Office, Jhulaghat, for further action.
