Ayurveda medicine production center in Ratnanagar producing eleven types of medicines

Chitwan: The Ayurveda Medicine Production Center in Ratnanagar is currently producing 11 types of medicines. The center produced nine types of medicines in the last fiscal year and has added two more this year.

According to Dr. Suresh Maharjan, head of the center, although it has received permission from the Department of Drug Management to produce 20 types of medicines, it is presently producing only 11.

He stated that the medicines currently being produced are in powdered form. The center has now initiated the process of producing medicines in tablet form. “For the first time, we are in the process of producing tablet medicines,” he said, adding that permission has been obtained to produce nine types of tablet medicines.

The center is currently producing Ashwagandha powder in 50 grams and 100 grams, Avipatikar powder 50 grams, Mahasudarshan powder 50 grams, Nimbadi powder 50 grams, Pusyanug powder 50 grams, Triphala powder 50 grams, Sitopaladi powder 50 grams, Amalaki powder 100 grams, Bilwadi powder 50 grams, and Hingbastak powder 50 grams.

Preparations are underway to produce Khadiradi vati, Sarpagandhaghan vati, Gandhak Rasayan, Chandraprabha vati, Matashankha vati, Rajapravartini vati, Yogaraj Guggulu, Mahayograj Guggulu, and Kaishore Guggulu tablets.

Dr. Maharjan informed that the center in Bagmati Province has been producing medicines with government permission and in accordance with federal standards. Currently, the center is prioritizing the production of 23 medicines and has already received permission from the provincial government to produce 119 types of medicines.

He said that the government is preparing to produce 23 prioritized medicines, particularly those categorized as essential, with plans to provide them free of cost.

He further stated that the medicines are being produced and recommended in accordance with the Efficient Medicines Manufacturing Practices Guidelines 2082 issued by the government. The center has also been working to supply medicines to district Ayurveda health centers across Bagmati Province.
