Forty youths trained as computer technicians and offset printing machine operators in Tikapur
Tikapur (Kailali): Forty youths in Tikapur have been trained as computer technicians and offset printing machine operators. The Tikapur Municipality Employment Service Center stated that 20 participants were trained in offset press operations with the aim of linking youth to employment opportunities.
Chief Administrative Officer Suman Dhital informed that a 390-hour training program has been conducted since Saturday with the objective of making unemployed youths self-employed and creating employment opportunities in potential sectors.
He said such training programs have been initiated as individuals with technical skills have better access to employment. “Currently, most youths are going abroad, but they can acquire technical skills and find jobs within the country. Based on suggestions, we prepared a plan considering computer and printing training as suitable areas,” said Dhital. “Computers have become essential in every field. Printing work is also equally important, but due to the lack of local manpower for computer repair and printing services, foreign workers are benefiting. This is why the training has been organized.”
Coordinator of the Municipality Economic Development Committee and Ward No. 7 Chairman Yagya Prasad Neupane said the training was designed to encourage youths to gain skills and secure employment within the country. “There is a trend of going abroad after completing Grade 12. Our goal is for youths to earn well within their own country. Therefore, producing skilled manpower is necessary,” he said.
Head of the Economic Development Branch Ranju Acharya said the municipality organized the training due to a shortage of skilled manpower in sectors with employment potential.
