Purchaundi area administration office gets new chief after prolonged vacancy
Baitadi: The long-standing vacancy of an office chief at the Area Administration Office in Purchaundi, Baitadi, has been filled with the appointment of Uttam Bahadur Bista. The move is expected to restore regular service delivery at the office, which had remained without a chief for an extended period.
As per a secretary-level decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nayab Subba Bista, who was serving at the District Administration Office Baitadi, has been assigned the responsibility of leading the Area Administration Office Purchaundi. He has also been authorized to carry out administrative and financial transactions in accordance with prevailing laws until a permanent office head is appointed.
According to Chief District Officer of Baitadi, Dr. Dijan Bhattarai, Bista will formally assume his duties at the Purchaundi office from next Monday. He stated that services disrupted due to the absence of a chief are now expected to resume.
The lack of an office head had affected essential services, including the distribution of citizenship certificates, national identity cards, and minor identity cards since last November. As a result, local residents were compelled to travel to the district headquarters to access basic administrative services.
With the appointment of the new chief, these services are expected to be restored, bringing relief to residents of the Purchaundi area. The availability of services at the local level is also expected to save both time and costs for the public.
In line with the government’s policy to strengthen the administrative structure at the local level and enhance service delivery, the appointment of a chief at the Purchaundi office is viewed as a positive development.
