Home minister Sudhan Gurung resigns amid controversy over share transactions

Kathmandu: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has resigned from his position.

Gurung, who has been accused of involvement in various share transactions with controversial businessmen, submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen). He also informed about his resignation through social media.

Prime Minister Shah had formed the Council of Ministers on the same day he was appointed, and Gurung was also appointed Home Minister on that day.

Gurung, who had drawn attention for arresting high-ranking officials in the initial days of his tenure, has recently been at the center of criticism.

According to high-level sources, Gurung submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Shah following discussions with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Rabi Lamichhane.
