Dhangadhi: Following a clash between prisoners at Kanchanpur Jail on Wednesday, 15 inmates have been transferred to Naubasta Jail in Banke. The clash, which injured five prisoners, arose from a mutual disagreement between two groups.

Jailer Hemanti Saund confirmed that the transfer process was completed on Wednesday, including the three injured prisoners—Bhuwan Nath, Bhuwan Air, and Prakash Gharedi. The remaining two injured, Daju Damai and Ayush Bam, are still at Kanchanpur but have been discharged after receiving treatment at Mahakali Provincial Hospital.

Earlier, a similar clash occurred in December, reportedly linked to disputes over the importation and high-priced transactions of alcohol and drugs within the jail.

Jailer Saund stated that Wednesday’s clash resulted from a mutual dispute, adding that while there were other claims regarding the incident, she could not confirm them.
