Nepal Electricity Authority provides job to family member of Gen-z martyr Deepak Saud
Baitadi: The family of Deepak Singh Saud of Shivanath Rural Municipality-2, Sharmali, who was martyred during the Genji movement in Baitadi, has received employment support as announced by the government.
Saraswati Saud, the sister-in-law of martyr Deepak, has been provided a job at the Nepal Electricity Authority.
According to a statement made public on Sunday by the Public Affairs Department of the Nepal Electricity Authority, employment will be provided to 27 members of families of those martyred during the Genji movement, including Saraswati Saud.
Deepak Singh Saud lost his life after being shot by police during a Genji protest in Kathmandu on Bhadra 23. He had joined the movement after completing his studies in agricultural jetty.
Following his death, the government declared him a martyr and provided Rs. 1.5 million as relief to his family. A team led by the then Chief District Officer Punya Bikram Poudel had visited the family to distribute the relief. The government had also announced that one member of the family would be provided employment.
Martyr Saud’s mother, Lakshmi Saud, said that the application for employment was submitted in the name of her daughter-in-law with the consent of the family.
In addition, Shivanath Rural Municipality has provided Rs. 100,000 as relief, according to Rural Municipality Chairman Karna Singh Saud. He also informed that the martyr’s family is being given priority in the municipality’s enterprise programs.
