Newly elected MPs must submit asset details by 2083 Jestha 10
Kathmandu: Newly elected members of the House of Representatives are required to submit their asset details by Jestha 10, 2083.
Sub-section (1) of Section 50 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, and Sub-section (1) of Section 31A of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Act, 2048, mandate that any person holding a public office must declare their assets.
Both acts require that updated asset details, including the source or evidence of assets held in the name of the individual and their family, be submitted to the designated authority within 60 days of assuming public office.
Citing this legal provision, the MP Facilitation Branch of the Federal Parliament Secretariat has issued a notice requesting all newly elected MPs to submit their asset declarations.
According to the public notice, MPs are instructed to submit updated property details for the fiscal year 2081/082 in a sealed envelope to the MP Facility Management Branch (Room No. 2070, Building No. 1) of the Federal Parliament Secretariat during office hours by Jestha 10, 2083.
The House of Representatives election was held on Falgun 21, and the elected MPs took their oath of office on Chaitra 2.
