One protest detainee held for banking crime investigation in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: One of the seven individuals arrested during the Nepal UML protest on Saturday has been found to be accused of banking crime and remains in custody for further investigation.

According to SP and spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, six of those detained during the protest have been released, while one individual, identified as Bimal Dhamala, has been kept in custody.

Police stated that Dhamala was involved in vandalizing vehicles during the protest. SP Bhattarai further informed that two cases of banking crime have been registered against him. The process for his continued detention and further investigation has been initiated.
