Dozens of Nepali citizens stranded at Gaurifanta border crossing
Dhangadhi: Nepali citizens have been stranded at the Gaurifanta border crossing connected to Kailali after the border was sealed for election security. Approximately forty Nepalis remain across the border on the Indian side.
Indian police have reported that one among the stranded individuals is unwell. Shivaraj Joshi, Administrative Officer at the District Administration Office, Kailali, stated that coordination will be carried out with authorities and the citizens on the Indian side to facilitate their return to Nepal.
The stranded individuals had arrived at the border since morning. Movement across the crossing has been halted after the border was sealed from 12 midnight on Monday in view of election security arrangements.
