Navajivan hospital marks 20 years, expands from 15 to 100 beds in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: Dhangadhi-based Navajivan Hospital has completed two decades of service, marking its journey of expanding access to quality healthcare. The hospital shared its achievements and future plans during a press conference organized on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.

According to Medical Director Dr. Bidurmani Dhakal, the hospital began formal operations in 2062 BS with 15 beds. Through gradual infrastructure development and service expansion, it has been operating at full capacity with approval for 100 beds since 2079 BS. He stated that, since its establishment, the hospital has prioritized not only treatment services but also health awareness and social responsibility.

The hospital currently provides regular emergency, outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) services. It has also extended services to the community through free maternity care, vaccination programs and various health camps, directly benefiting rural and underprivileged populations.

With the expansion of specialist services, departments including orthopedics and neurology; obstetrics and gynecology; general medicine; kidney diseases; pediatrics; ear, nose and throat; mental health; skin and sexually transmitted diseases; liver diseases; hormones and diabetes; general surgery; neurosurgery; urology; anesthesiology; emergency services; radiology and imaging; pathology; dentistry; physiotherapy and rehabilitation; nursing; and pharmacy are in operation.

The hospital states that facilities such as ICU, NICU, hemodialysis, CT scan and 24-hour ambulance services have enabled timely treatment for critically ill patients. It adds that the integration of modern equipment and skilled manpower has enhanced service delivery.

Skilled health professionals are also being trained through the Navajeevan College of Nursing and Health Sciences operated by the hospital. Students studying at the college are contributing positively to the health sector, according to the institution.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, a blood donation program was held on the hospital premises with enthusiastic participation from health workers, students and the general public. Through the continued expansion of specialist services, adoption of modern technology and community-centered initiatives, the hospital is positioning itself as a trusted healthcare destination in the Far West. It aims to further enhance service quality and expand specialist services in the coming years.
