Dhangadhi: The Market shutdown (Nepal Bandh) called by the Communist Party of Nepal (Majority) on Tuesday, demanding the cancellation of the elections scheduled for Falgun 21, had a minimal impact on daily life in Far West Province. While some educational institutions declared a holiday as a precaution, most private and government offices remained operational. Market areas were fully open, and shops selling daily necessities continued business as usual.

The transportation sector was largely unaffected, with short- and long-distance vehicles operating regularly. Senior Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the Provincial Police Office, Dhangadhi, Padam Bista, reported that no untoward incidents had occurred so far. He added, "If there is a problem anywhere, we are facilitating transportation operations. Police teams have been mobilized at necessary locations, keeping security in mind."

The bandh was declared to demand the cancellation of the Falgun 21 elections, to resist foreign interference, protect national independence, and advocate for the formation of a constitutional coalition government. Despite these demands, life in various districts of the Far West continues normally, with markets, banks, financial institutions, and public service offices largely operating without disruption.

Authorities have increased surveillance to maintain peace and security and have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading or acting on rumors.
