Dhangadhi: The Nepali Congress has conducted a comprehensive strategic meeting in Kailali Constituency No. 5 ahead of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21. The meeting aimed to unify the party organization and present the Congress agenda effectively to voters, marking a key step in the constituency’s election preparations.

Chaired by Regional President Bhim Padal, the meeting saw participation from central party members, Sudurpaschim Province Working Committee office bearers, Kailali District Working Committee leaders, and regional and ward-level cadres. The extensive turnout highlighted the growing election atmosphere in the constituency.

The program began with a welcome speech, followed by remarks from Nepali Congress Kailali District Secretary Nrip Sunar, who discussed the party’s internal challenges and opportunities. He emphasized the need for active engagement by cadres at all levels, prioritizing coordination, dialogue, and discipline to secure electoral victory.

Sudurpaschim Province Regional Secretary Vijayraj Joshi oversaw the meeting, clarifying that the session was intended to lay the groundwork for the party’s upcoming action plan rather than being a mere formality.

Ward Chairman of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 1, Santosh Mudbhari, highlighted the importance of effectively presenting the Congress’s contributions in development, democracy, inclusion, and constitutional implementation to the electorate, noting that this could translate into positive election outcomes.

A key moment of the meeting was the address by Nepali Congress Sudurpaschim Province General Secretary and Kailali-5 House of Representatives candidate Nara Narayan Shah. He dismissed rumors of factionalism within the party, asserting that leaders and workers remained united. Shah also noted that despite health challenges, he remained fully active politically and enjoyed the support of all party groups. “We hear talk of factions in conversation, but not in practice,” he said. “Our common goal is to make the Nepali Congress win in Kailali-5.”
