Tikapur festival generates Rs 50 lakhs in ticket sales
Tikapur: The Tikapur Festival, ongoing in Tikapur, Kailali since December 29, has generated Rs 50 lakhs in ticket sales to date. Organizers reported that more than 100,000 people have visited the festival, with free entry provided on the first day.
Ticket sales collected per day include Rs 124,000 on December 30, Rs 554,000 on January 1, Rs 1,133,000 on January 2, Rs 980,000 on January 3, Rs 551,000 on January 4, Rs 650,000 on January 5, with the remaining amount collected on January 6 and 7, according to Upendra Batala, committee coordinator and member of the Tikapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Far West Industrial Trade Fair and Tikapur Festival, organized under the slogan ‘Industrial, Cultural, Educational, Agricultural and Tourism Potential, Vision of a Prosperous Far West,’ will continue until January 11. General entry tickets are priced at Rs 100, with a 50 percent discount for students. Single women, senior citizens, and people with disabilities are granted free entry.
The festival features a fun fair, photo exhibition, educational displays, and a ‘Tharu Village’ showcasing Tharu art and culture. Free eye treatment, first aid, and other services are also provided, said Batala. Two hundred commercial stalls have been set up for vendors. The festival has been organized by the Chamber of Commerce since 2065 BS.
